Weekend Roundup....Being Catholic

What a blessed weekend...literally!
This weekend was chalk full of sacraments for our family...all we were missing was a wedding!
On Saturday we celebrated our sweet baby Cruz and his baptism.
Friends and family came out to help us celebrate and we couldn't be happier.
Our great friends Dolores and Jojo became the godparents...and we are now forever family.

Cruz and all of our kids have always really taken to the Virgos...but this weekend...I literally saw the moment where Cruz just fell in love with Dolores and Jojo...it was beautiful!
So honored to call them family!
The great moment....Dolores and Jojo chose Francis as Cruz's saint name...
On Sunday we were set to celebrate Johnny and Bella's First communion...we had a nice relaxing morning...I helped Bella get ready...and My Jamas took care of Johnny...
I was so happy that they were able to have their ceremony together....
This is Bella's teacher...she is so cute...and was so proud!
My Shelly was a lifesaver and a great help with Cruz...she snuggled Cruz to sleep...and I was able to snap this adorable shot!!!!
We rushed over to our home right after were we hosted a vintage Mexican party to CELEBRATE the weekend!
 Picnic Style...
 My Loves...
 My Gals...
 Bella and her BFF....
By this point Cruz and Jojo were joined at the hip...
The decor came out exactly as I envisioned...but as always I was too bust to properly capture it!  I made this yarn pom pom garland and even though I spent HOURS making it...it looked so good up...and I just plan to leave it up.
We hired the Taco Guy...and even though he was the slowest man on EARTH..it was pretty tasty...and it made my day a lot easier!!!!!
These canvas were by far my favorite decor...I blew up the prints to an engineer size and mounted them on canvas...I then made these cute lil banners to give it a fun pop of color.  I made three...one of Cruz and his Godparents...one of Johnny and Bella and this one of the four of them.
 Our Happy Girl.....
The house was full of loved ones....

And these two awesome kids were so sweet to give up their birthday weekend...I made sure to make them their own cake to celebrate them as well!!!!
The cousins....together for the first time...EVER!!!
(Cruz was napping)

And...one of the greatest moments of the weekend came when during Sundays ceremony....our Priest began to tell us of his trip to Rome where he met our new Pope Francis...he proceeded to tell us that he waited over 3 hours to meet him and when he did he had a couple of rosaries blessed by him....and then he surprised everyone when he told us that very moment he would be awarding them to some kids that participated and correctly answered some questions about the mass...Our Bella raised her hand...he picked her....and she got one!!!!!!  She walked out of that church wearing a rosary BLESSED by POPE FRANCIS!!!!!!!! So amazing...she is super excited and wants me to shadow box it!!!

This weekend reminded me so much about how blessed we are to have so many people that love our kids...that genuinely care about them and were happy to witness their ceremonies!  A huge thank you to them all!!!!

Weekend Roundup...Bella's Back Edition

Our weekend started off AMAZING...because our Bella came back home from Science Camp and we were all waiting and excited!  We planned a relaxing and fun weekend filled with mostly snuggling and spoiling our lil Bella Bear.

Her Papa Bear made sure to have a California Roll waiting for her...
Cruz was so happy to be back in her arms!
Mateo was so happy...and literally walked around telling everyone "Bella is Home"!
Excited?  You think?
My hubby and I snuck away to the comforts of our kitchen for a lil date....
Our IBerts finally arrived and we didn't wait one second...and my dream of a family bike ride came true...the only damper was Johnny had band practice and Bella had a date with Big John to the movies...but we already have the next ride planned for the entire brood.
Both Mateo and Cruz LOVED it!!!  Cruz even started nodding off at the very end!
And....look what this adorable toothless wonder decided to do....
And since he has been such a show off with his big boy tricks...we broke out the tunnel and he loved it!
Cruz LOVES when Bella sings to him....and she made up for lost time!!!!!
Johnny promised Bella some of his Fancy pants milk shakes and he came through...
This hunk worked on his prized garden....
And later he spoiled us and took us out for Sidecar Doughnuts and Keane Coffee...both in Costa Mesa...and both will leave you in a trance!!!
 Blueberry...Chocolate...Guava...Coffee Cake....Glazed...and Maple Bacon
And what would our weekend be without a DIY and a visit to our home away from home?

Have a Blessed Week!

The Style Bandit: My Hair Shenanigens Edition

Let me start off by saying sorry for the skip yesterday...I had a AMAZING recipe to share with you...my family's favorite...BY FAR....but my hubby wanted to watch The hobbit and so I had to choose between snuggling with my hubby or blogging....guess which one I chose...and it was an EASY choice.
I will share the recipe next week...promise...unless he brings another great movie again! :)

Being 100% Costa Rican does mean I am dealt the very hairy hand of having a BIG and FRO-ish mane of hair.
Some might like it...but let me tell you it is a part time jog maintaining this thang!
But upon some requests I will share a couple of tips...including one that might shock you.

1) I wash my hair only twice a week...I know...I know...yuck...but not really...my hair does not get oily...and as I mentioned before...just brushing this mane out is a part time job!  But honestly...washing it only twice a week makes for healthier hair.

2) When I do wash my hair I usually let it air dry (which takes about 8 hours to fully dry...I AM NOT KIDDING)!  But when I do blow dry it...I apply a heat protector.

3) I use only a wide tooth comb to prevent splitting and pulling hair out.

4) I use products that have been reliable for over 15 years:
Infusium
Pantene
And some new favorites are:
Moroccan Oil
Coconut Oil
Dove Therapy
And FINALLY...the shocker...twice a month...I use...
HORSE SHAMPOO...since I was 15...and I swear by it!

And my favorite tool:
a ceramic 1 1/2 inch curling iron to smooth out my hair.

That's it!

Hope it helps..
