Let's try this again

Tonight I tucked my daughter in bed...she asked me to stay with her until she fell asleep.

I realized my beautiful one and only baby girl although was quickly transforming into a gorgeous confident young woman right in front of my eyes was still a scared lil girl that needed her mommy.....and I guess I have these nifty lil earthquakes to thank for that.  And as I layed there stroking her big fluffy curly mane to sleep in the room she so sweetly shares with her two little brothers and next to her heavy metal listening brother I soaked up the sounds of three lil beautiful sets of lungs breathing as they slept with the faint blare of the teenagers music playing softly in the background in the next room over and my husband clanging pots as he cleaned the kitchen after a perfect Saturdays evening celebration .....I simply thank God for all his blessings. 

Weekend roundup.....it's baaaaccck

On our last visit to the museum of natural history Cruz was still in my tummy and Mateo really liked dinosaurs but wasn't obsessed like genus today so I was sooooo excited to throw almost all the bunnies into the car and drive up to see some Dino's! Mateo floated through...on cloud nine! It was so fun to watch him and very impressive to hear him identify all the different species...even with just their bones. 

Great family trip...low cost...and if you are a teacher you get in free!

Mateos pajama party

Better late than never...right?

Last month we had a great lil celebration for our blondie...it was a Christmas pajama party and it turned out just as I in visioned! 

We made a custom table to allow for forward facing seating and low enough for the toddler only guests. I also attached wooden stakes in order to hang some twinkles and a festive birthday sign. 

Wrapped in butcher paper I drew each table setting with each guests name and setting along with Santa hat.

I found these adorable red lil houses at target and I put battery operated candles inside them.

Projected mateos favorite movie...served a breakfast for dinner menu which included peanut butter pancakes...and French toast kabobs...and my mom made an amazing Spanish tortilla.

Snowflakes and Xmas washi tape helped display a small gallery of steps year in pictures.

The kids sat and loved it!!!

Everyone wore pajamas..

And Alita made Mateo the perfect animal cake!

Blew out the candles to a perfect celebration!

Aunt Evelyn arrived a lil late...but brought this guy along and Mateo fell in love!

Holy cow it's December!!! Where's the advent?!

Did anyone one else get smacked in the face with December 1? Because insure did and because of it I was totally not prepared for the advent. Every year I make the kids an advent with treats and fun activities and phrases and quotes to reflect on what really makes Xmas...Christmas! My kids are honestly really grateful and never ask for much...and they have always looked forward to the countdown to Christmas more than the morning avalanche of gifts! For this reason I put a lot of effort into this! However this year with the late thanksgiving December 1 just popped up and I had to put together something quickly but still fantastic....I present to you the year of advent I almost ruined! 

I started with a large ish piece of balsa wood ...it's light and splinter free...easy

Gather materials...white lunch sacks...goodies...little gifts...cute tags to write activities on...

Make the list of activities and number them in the order that will make the activity conducive to the day...kept the activities easier on the big kids busy days...

Place tag and treat on treat per kiddo in each bag...

Hot glue each bag on the balsa and and a little garland for fun...

I hung ours where the little chubby ones can't get to...but where we can all see...enjoy...and countdown...

And this one wouldn't fall asleep..so we had some major multi tasking going on!
